Promotion Engine
The system that runs your custom promotions cleanly, while your tier handles manufacturer campaigns automatically.
TSG operates two tiers, Pro and Charter, and both automatically handle 40 to 60+ manufacturer promotion campaigns per year. Liberty, Browning, AMSEC, Rhino, and other major brands' campaigns run automatically on your site, on their published calendars, with no involvement from you.
But tier-level handling only covers manufacturer-driven campaigns. When you want to run something of your own, an anniversary sale, a clearance event, an in-store push, a seasonal campaign, that's where the Promotion Engine takes over. It gets your custom promotions live on time, keeps them accurate while they run, and removes them cleanly when they end.
Billed only in months you run custom promotions. Charter dealers: included in partnership at no additional cost.
Two Kinds of Promotions. Two Different Systems.
TSG separates promotional work into two distinct categories, because they have fundamentally different economics and operational requirements.
Manufacturer Promotions
The standardized campaigns that brands like Liberty, Browning, AMSEC, and Rhino run on their own calendars.
Same dates, pricing, and assets across every dealer carrying that brand
40 to 60+ campaigns per year (varies by which brands you carry)
TSG builds each campaign once and deploys to every dealer site automatically
Zero effort: they appear on the start date and disappear on the end date
Zero additional cost: fully included in your tier
Dealer Promotions
Promotions you initiate on your own, specific to your store, timed to your operation, built around offers you're deciding.
Anniversary sales
In-store events and grand openings
Clearance and inventory reduction pushes
Seasonal dealer-specific campaigns and holiday pushes beyond manufacturer calendars
Multiple overlapping offers in high-activity months
Why the split matters: Bundling both into your monthly tier would mean either charging every dealer for promotional capacity most won't use, or underfunding the work during high-volume months. Neither is honest. Separating them means you pay for the Promotion Engine only when you're actually running custom promotions. Months with no custom activity cost nothing.
Running Promotions Manually Looks Simple. It Isn't.
Pick a date. Choose an offer. Put a banner on the website. Take it down when it ends. In practice, this is where most promotional activity quietly breaks down. Every promotion creates a sequence of time-sensitive obligations that stack on top of each other during the months you're most distracted.
What actually goes wrong (the failures are quiet)
A customer visits a week after a promotion ended and sees the old banner
Another clicks through to a collection that no longer reflects advertised pricing
A third sees two overlapping offers and isn't sure which applies
Expired banners stay live because someone forgot to take them down
Sale pricing persists past the end date because the reversal wasn't on anyone's list
Conflicting promotions render simultaneously because no one was coordinating them
None of these customers will call to complain. They'll quietly assume your website is unreliable, and take their research somewhere else. Your website is the first salesperson in your business, and what they see shapes what they think of you before you've said a word.
Promotions done well strengthen your credibility. Promotions done poorly quietly undermine it.
Promotional Execution as Infrastructure, Not Activity
The Promotion Engine handles your custom promotional activity as a managed lifecycle, not a series of tasks you have to remember. Every custom promotion you submit includes:
Coordinated setup
Banner placement, collection pages, pricing alignment, navigation updates, component coordination.
Scheduled activation
Goes live on your chosen start date, not before, not after.
Real-time monitoring
System watches for conflicts, overlapping offers, and inconsistencies while the promotion runs.
Automated expiration
Everything deactivates on your chosen end date without manual action.
Clean removal
Banners come down, pricing reverts, featured placement clears, and the site returns to normal. When a promotion ends, it's actually gone, not quietly lingering for weeks.
What Your Customers Actually See
Each promotion can appear in multiple places, depending on what makes sense for the campaign. Every piece is coordinated so it activates and deactivates together, with no stray components.
Homepage Hero Banner
Large visual featured prominently for the promotion's duration. Used for your most visible campaigns.
Announcement Bar
Slim bar across the top of every page. Always visible while active. One bar at a time.
Product Page Callout
Dedicated promotional block on included items. Clear pricing, clear messaging.
Collection Pages
A dedicated page with its own header, pricing presentation, and filtered grid when a promotion covers a group of products.
Product Card Badges
Visual badges on listing pages, category pages, and search results. Customers see the badge before clicking through.
Countdown Timer
Optional urgency element showing time remaining. Used for limited-time offers and short campaigns.
Not every promotion needs every component. You tell us what the promotion is; we decide which components make it land best. Everything activates together, stays coordinated while running, and disappears together when it ends.
Two Display Modes. Manufacturer Protection Built In.
Most major safe manufacturers publish formal Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies governing whether and when dealers may advertise below-MAP pricing. These aren't suggestions, they carry escalating enforcement consequences for authorized dealers.
Why MAP matters (Liberty's enforcement structure, as a category example)
Written notice with 48-hour correction window
Temporary hold on shipments, removal from online dealer listings
Termination of authorized reseller status and program access
A single unnoticed sale price left up past the end of a promotional window can put your authorized status with a major manufacturer at risk. That is the operational reality the Promotion Engine is built around.
Visible Sale Pricing
Used when: the product has no MAP restriction, or the promotion falls inside an active MAP Holiday window.
Original price with strikethrough, sale price prominent, visible everywhere. When the window ends, the system automatically restores original pricing on the end date. No lingering sale prices, which is exactly how most MAP violations occur.
Cart Pricing (MAP-Safe)
Used when: the promotion involves MAP-restricted products outside any active MAP Holiday window.
Original price stays displayed; the full discount applies automatically in the cart. Messaging uses language manufacturers explicitly identify as permissible. The customer still gets the discount, your authorization stays protected.
You don't have to decide. The system evaluates each promotion against current MAP status and active MAP Holiday windows and enforces the correct mode automatically. MAP compliance becomes architectural, not something you or your staff has to remember. You cannot accidentally violate MAP with the Promotion Engine, the system refuses the request before it becomes a problem with your manufacturer.
From Your Submission to Clean Removal
Every promotion moves through the same six stages. You're involved at the beginning (intake) and at approval. TSG handles everything in between.
Intake · you
You submit via the intake form: promotion name, start and end dates, products or collections, pricing details, and manufacturer assets. Minimum 5 business days before start.
Coordinated Setup · TSG
TSG builds the execution: banner placement, collection pages, pricing alignment, navigation, component coordination. Mode A or Mode B selected automatically based on MAP status.
Review and Approval · you
You see the promotion before it goes live. Final approval comes from you, not us. Nothing activates without your confirmation.
Scheduled Activation · system
On your start date, the promotion activates automatically. Banners appear, badges render, pricing updates, components become visible. The system handles the moment of launch, not a person.
Active Monitoring · system
The system watches while it runs: overlapping offers, messaging inconsistencies, pricing errors, conflicting activity. Issues are caught and corrected in real time.
Clean Removal · system
Everything comes down on the end date. Banners deactivate, pricing reverts (Mode A), discount codes expire (Mode B), placement clears, collection pages restore. No one has to remember.
The hardest part of running a promotion isn't launching it. It's ending it cleanly. The Promotion Engine handles both.
One Channel. Clear Requirements. Predictable Outcomes.
Promotion requests are submitted through the intake form only. Not email. Not text. Not Slack. A single channel means every promotion starts with complete, structured information, flows directly into the execution system, and nothing gets lost in a thread.
The 5-business-day rule
Submit at least 5 business days before the desired start. This isn't bureaucracy, it's what allows accurate execution: time to confirm inputs, build cleanly rather than rushed, verify no conflicts, and give you a chance to review before launch.

What's Outside the Promotion Engine
The Promotion Engine handles website execution specifically. It is not a replacement for:
Paid advertising
Google, Meta, display, retargeting are all outside scope.
Email marketing
A promo on your site doesn't automatically produce an email blast.
Social media promotion
Posts, stories, paid social are outside scope.
Campaign strategy
The system doesn't decide what to promote, when, or at what price. Those are your decisions.
Creative production
TSG places assets you or your manufacturers provide; it doesn't create artwork or shoot photography.
Pricing strategy
MAP compliance decisions belong to you. TSG enforces the rules architecturally; you decide the pricing.
Why this matters: A system that tries to do everything promotional across every channel becomes difficult to scope, expensive to price, and unreliable to deliver. The Promotion Engine stays narrow on purpose, because narrow is what makes it dependable.
How the Promotion Engine Is Priced
Billed only in months you run custom promotions. No fee during inactive months. No lock-in, no annual commitment. Charter dealers: included in partnership at no additional cost, any volume, any month.
Why this structure
Promotional activity varies dramatically across dealers and months. A flat subscription would mean charging everyone for capacity most won't use, or underfunding high-volume months. Billing only when promotions run is predictable, fair, and wastes nothing.
What "additional" means
"Additional" refers to promotions beyond the 40 to 60+ manufacturer promotions handled automatically by your tier each year. Manufacturer campaigns don't count toward your monthly count, they're already handled at no extra cost. Billing only applies to promotions you initiate yourself.
Common Starting Points
Most Pro dealers add the Promotion Engine when they recognize a specific pattern in their business. Common triggers:
A November or holiday push with three to five overlapping promotions needing coordinated execution
A planned anniversary sale or in-store event needing aligned website messaging
An inventory reduction cycle with multiple short-duration offers
A switch away from manual handling after a cleanup failure undermined customer trust
Because the Promotion Engine is billed only in months promotions run, there's no cost to having it available for months it isn't needed. Most Pro dealers let usage develop naturally based on actual promotional activity, rather than committing to a fixed cadence upfront.
What Changes When This Is in Place
Promotions launch on time. Banners are accurate. Collections reflect actual pricing. And the part that matters most: promotions end cleanly, without stale banners quietly eroding the site's credibility for weeks after the offer expired.
What stops happening
No more logging in to upload banners manually
No more spreadsheets tracking price changes
No more trying to remember which promotions should have ended
No more "why is your website still showing that?" conversations
No more MAP compliance anxiety, it's architectural
No more operational tax during your busiest months
What starts happening
Website stays credible during exactly the periods when credibility matters most
Customers arrive during promotional pushes and see a site that looks coordinated and intentional
Staff time that used to go to cleanup is available for customers
Promotional activity becomes something you plan, not something you manage day-to-day
How the Promotion Engine Fits Into the System
Your tier already handles manufacturer promotions automatically, the 40 to 60+ campaigns that run on manufacturer calendars each year, deployed without any action from you. The Promotion Engine extends this by handling your custom promotional activity. Both use the same underlying infrastructure: same banners, same components, same expiration logic, same pricing enforcement. The only differences are who initiates them and how they're billed.
Coordinate Your Custom Promotions
If you're planning custom promotional activity beyond your manufacturer calendar, anniversary sales, in-store events, clearance pushes, or seasonal campaigns, the Promotion Engine ensures your site runs them correctly from the moment they go live until the moment they end.
And in months you're not running custom promotions, you're not paying for it.
The standard isn't what makes the content good. The dealer is.
